Star Wars: Did John Boyega Just Confirm A Skywalker Family Reunion?

Ever since the death of Carrie Fisher, fans have been saddened by the fact that we may never get to see Luke and Leia reunited onscreen. Actor John Boyega, however, may have slip that the two definitely have some scenes together, and we'll be seeing the Skywalker twins reunited in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

In an interview with THR, Boyega said:

"I think the sendoff is really cool. Even before she passed away, I'd see her in scenes and be like, ‘This is really cool for both Carrie and Mark, who are the last two original leads [alive in the franchise]. I felt like they deserve more and more — they've been doing this for a while and have been the beating heart of something special, and I just feel like [The Last Jedi] pays homage to them in general. But unfortunately, now that she's passed, it does have a deeper meaning. I think the fans are going to appreciate that."

Reading the comment, Boyega definitely makes it sound that he was watching Fisher and Hamill shooting their scenes together. It's now just a question of when they'll be reunited in the film.

Lucasfilm has made it clear that Fisher's death didn't alter anything from her role in The Last Jedi, but hopefully the studio wasn't planning to hold off the Skywalker reunion until the third movie. Just like Han's death in The Force Awakens, it would be absolutely heartbreaking to see Luke and Leia onscreen for one last time, knowing that they won't meet each other again.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi comes out Dec. 15.
