Star Wars Darth Maul Canceled Game Looks Glorious in New Art Concept Releases

Great Star Wars games are treasured gems for the hardcore fan base. And while fans are still waiting for more events and a follow-up to Star Wars Battlefront, there had already been a number of games conceptualized but never realized.

Boba Fett had already lost his chance at starring at his own videogame. And now, some new concept images show that Darth Maul was also slated for the privilege, which will no longer arrive.

Game Informer got its hands on some pretty sweet new concept art via ArtStation. And here, we see a glimpse of more characters, apart from the titular badass Sith. We get a glimpse of Darth VaGhal, the Sith Emperor, and Nexus Wan the only Jedi designed for the game. Nexus is sporting quite an edgy look, from the hair to the makeup, and down to her almost Kiss-like get-up.

Other characters depicted include Darth Tigran, Darth Nix, Sith Advisor, a New Empire Imperial Officer, and a couple of New Empire Storm Troopers. There are also some very rough bounty hunter sketches, which hail from different factions within the Star Wars universe.

Of course, it wouldn't be complete without a glimpse of Darth Maul himself. There are a number of outfit sketches, each of which looks very rad in their specific way. I think my favorite would be the sketch of him hooded but with minimal upper body cloth drapes. It calls to mind a wilder side to Darth Maul, almost like a desert warrior out to hail darkness on Jedi.

"Darth Maul: Maul had many different gear and armor combinations in the design, here was one of them. The lower half of his body in cybernetic as a result of his encounter in Episode 1."

From the looks of it, the game should have been populated by a lot of Siths and Imperial officers. If only this game had seen the light of development.
