Star Wars Comics from IDW Will Add All-Ages Line This Year

Soon, even kids can truly appreciate and have their own line of comics for the Star Wars line care of IDW Publishing.

Hot off the news reel of Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Lucasfilm Publishing creative director Michael Siglain announced the new line planned for release sometime in fall 2017, Comicbook.com reported. Dubbed as an all-ages line, this will reportedly be one of the efforts to hype the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

"Lucasfilm is thrilled to expand our relationship with the talented and creative folks at IDW to bring Star Wars comics to kids. IDW has an incredible pedigree of talent, and we look forward to working with them on the creation of these fun, action-packed adventures that span the entire Star Wars saga."

The kids' line is actually a dream that's been a long time in the making. IDW has previously released other formats, including reprinted content in different forms. The new addition will be content that's directly aimed at kids for a more targeted platform. In addition, there will also be Star Wars newspaper strips coming out starting May.

What exactly the content and narrative for these new platforms, IDW has yet to specify.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be out in theaters this December.
