Star Wars Battlefront II: The Emperor Returns In Campaign Story Cutscene

With the release of Star Wars Battlefront in 2015 proving to be a critical bomb, EA and DICE are trying to make good with their release of Star Wars Battlefront II later this year. The game promises a new single player campaign, and we now have a cutscene following the Imperials after the death of the Emperor.

The "Emperor" in the scene is not actually Palpatine but a specialist type of droid which has been given special instructions should the Emperor's life be at risk. They have been introduced in the new comics before, and it's actually cool to see how one of these things actually sounds and moves.

Other than that, we get background on lead hero of the campaign Iden Verso as she tries to make sense of the fall of the Empire and rallies her Inferno Squadron in the fight against the Rebels. It looks like she'll be kept in the dark with the Empire's new plans, and I'm guessing her story will lead to the creation of the First Order in the sequel trilogy.

With the first game lacking so much content, a lot of fans are hopeful that Battlefront II will eventually redeem EA this time around. Just looking at this new game, we're getting more maps, more heroes, a campaign, and multiple eras spanning the Star Wars trilogy.

Let's hope the game is as good as it's promising to be.

Star Wars Battlefront II is set to come out Nov. 17.
