Star Wars Battlefront II Has A Major Connection To The Last Jedi

Star Wars Battlefront II is hitting shelves this Friday, a few weeks before the release of Lucasfilm's upcoming sequel trilogy installment, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Being a multi-generational Star Wars video game, gamers are expecting Battlefront II to cover all three Star Wars trilogies.

Tying in with The Last Jedi, Making Star Wars reports that the Star Wars: Battlefront sequel actually has a major connection with Lucasfilm's newest sequel trilogy installment, saying that an ancient compass relating to the Jedi Order actually pops up early on in the video game's single player campaign. The compass is expected to enter Luke's possession around the time of The Last Jedi.

Knowing that Luke will appear at some point in Battlefront II's campaign, the major assumption is that the game will plant a few eggs for the character's arc in The Force Awakens sequel, possibly featuring the story of how the Jedi first acquires the compass.

While fans might have wanted a flashier relic, the compass could be a significant item in Luke's story, possibly pointing Luke to Ahch-To in The Force Awakens. After all, what is a compass to do but point the direction one needs to take?

Let's wait and see what happens. Star Wars Battlefront II releases on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
