Star Wars Battlefront II: EA Developer Receiving Death Threats After Loot Box Complaints

Though a lot of people are excited for the release of Star Wars Battlefront II by the end of the week, the game has been getting a lot of flak after fans noticed that they have to put an insane amount of effort just to unlock some heroes in the game. Some fans are so angry at the fact that EA developer by the name of Sean (BiggSean66) has been receiving multiple death threats.

He writes:

So I'm up to 7 death threats, and over 1600 individual personal attacks now (and yes, for legal reasons I'm keeping track). And why, you might ask? Because of an unpopular feature in a game.

A Reddit user by the name of TheHotter Potato has calculated that a player needs to accumulate 2,300 minutes of gameplay just to unlock one hero—that's 38 hours of nonstop play. I'm a casal gamer myself and it took me a couple of months just to hit 64 hours of game time in Overwatch.

EA had since responded and it turned out to be one of the most downvoted posts on the sub-reddit. With the release date so close, hopefully the developers can find a way to make peace with the players. After all, this game was supposed to make up for the bomb that was the first Battlefront reboot back in 2015.

Star Wars Battlefront II comes out Nov. 17.
