Star Wars Actor is A Level 5 Pokemon Go Trainer, Reveals He Caught A Pikachu

There's no escaping the Pokemon Go craze, even in the galaxy far, far away.

John Boyega, the actor best known for playing Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, has revealed that he caught one of the most iconic creatures in the wildly popular augmented-reality game.

"I told EVERYBODY 'I got a Pikachu!'" he told Tech Crunch. "I was the most popular kid on set for like a day."

Boyega discovered the virtual electric rodent at Pinewood Studios in London, and revealed that he's at Level 5, but he didn't reveal which of the three Teams he joined.

"I was in Boston a few days ago and I thought there was like a fight going on, there were so many people crowding," he recalled to the technology-focused outlet. "I was like, what's going on? Oh, they're just playing Pokémon. It's great the ways technology has brought us all together. It's a very interesting time."

Boyega will reprise his role as Finn in Star Wars: Episode VIII, which is set to release in theaters on December 15, 2017.
