Star Wars 9 Director Stands Up For Ron Howard’s Han Solo

Lucasfilm's Han Solo might be back on track with director Ron Howard taking Chris Miller and Phil Lord's place, however fans are still concerned that the Star Wars spinoff won't do as well as everyone hopes.

Now, Star Wars Episode 9 director Colin Trevorrow sends the Han Solo team his support. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Trevorrow assures fans that the spinoff's cast and crew are working hard on the movie.

"Movies are very personal, and art is very personal, and for people to try to turn that into something that is salacious or something that will get clicks is frustrating and sad for me because I know that [movies] mean a lot to everyone involved. And everybody involved in that movie is passionate about it and worked on it very hard and continues to work on it very hard."

Trevorrow has also been recently put on the stand after his film The Book of Henry flopped, so the director knows firsthand how difficult it is to have projects smeared in controversy. Let's hope that the hard work that Howard and his team are putting into Han Solo pays off.

Han Solo premieres May 25, 2018.
