Star Trek: Discovery Shares A Closer Look at The Show's Phasers

The official Star Trek: Discovery Twitter page just shared a close up look at the phasers that'll be featured in the Star Trek prequel.

The new phasers took the core designs of Star Trek: Original Series and puts a modern sheen. Check out its look below:

Opposed to the remote control look of phasers in Star Trek: Next Generation and beyond, the phasers in the upcoming series resemble more like typical guns. It makes sense that the look looks closer to the original series because Discovery is set ten years before it.

Synopsis:

Set 10 years prior to the five-year mission of the Enterprise in Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: Discovery follows the adventures of Starfleet on their missions to discover new worlds and new lifeforms, and one Starfleet officer who must learn that to truly understand all things alien, you must first understand yourself. The series will feature a new ship, new characters, and new missions while embracing the same ideology and hope for the future that inspired a generation of dreamers and doers.

Star Trek: Discovery is set to premiere on September 24.
