Stan Lee's Least Favorite Marvel Movie Casting Revealed

Legendary Marvel creator Stan Lee is set to make his final appearance at Fan Expo Canada, and in the lead-up to the event, CBR asked the writer/editor which film adaptation he took most issue with. While Lee said that he didn't particularly dislike any Marvel film, he did call out one film he wasn't too fond of— Julian McMahon's Doctor Doom in Fantastic Four (2005). "I was a little disappointed in the very first Fantastic Four, because I didn't care for how Doctor Doom was portrayed. But other than that, I thought the movie was great. And the actors were terrific.

"I believe they captured the spirit and the intent of all of the characters, and I'm delighted with how they all turned out," Lee continued. "None of them have disappointed me. In fact, I think all of these movies have come out better than everybody ever thought they would…Even the early ones were good. Maybe I'm just my own biggest fan…"

On the reported controversial casting of Zendaya as Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Lee said: "I think it's a great idea. I wish I had thought of it. I can't wait to see that gal, I can't wait to see that movie, and I think the public will love it."

Stan Lee will show up at Toronto's Fan Expo Canada from Thursday September 1 to Sunday, September 4.
