Marvel Studios is a box office giant, and studios like Fox and Sony are trying their best to milk whatever property they own as much as they can. With Spider-Man getting shared rights back with Marvel, Sony has now decided to move forward with spinoffs based on villains like Venom, Black Cat, and Silver Sable. News has it that Black & Silver has finally found a release date.

According to Exhibitor Relations, Sony is slating Silver & Black for a release on Feb. 8, 2019. The Venom spinoff with Tom Hardy is expected to come out October 2018, and Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer is attached to helm the project. Gina Prince-Bythewood has been hired to direct this movie, and it looks like this will be Sony's version of Wonder Woman with a female-led film being helmed by a lady director.

With Tom Holland's Spider-Man set to return in Avengers: Infinity War next year, the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming is expected to be released in 2019 as well. Hopefully by that time, Sony and Marvel have already decided to share other Spidey characters into the MCU. It feels like a shame to have Scorpion appear in Silver & Black and not have Michael Mando reprise his role from Homecoming.

Though some fans are heavily criticizing Sony for moving forward with their spinoffs without Marvel, Sony has been very adamant that they know what they're doing with the characters. Maybe we should just wait and see what they have in store before judging.

Silver & Black is slated for a release on Feb. 8, 2019, and Venom is expected to come out Oct. 5, 2018.
