Spider-Man: Homecoming Director Interested In Bringing Back Blade

With Avengers: Infinity War set to come out next year, you'd think that Marvel is running out of comic book characters to make movies about, but there's still a handful that we haven't explored. With the universe ever-expanding, Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts said that he would be interested in bringing vampire-hunter Blade back into the universe.

Talking to We Got This Covered, Watts said:

"The tone of the character is pretty dark, but the vampire/Marvel Universe thing is pretty cool. Maybe we could get Blade to show up, too? That'd be neat."

Sure, the Marvel Cinematic Universe may be a bit lighter in tone, but I don't see why Blade can't make it to the much darker Marvel Netflix world. With the Punisher getting his own series, I could very well see Blade getting rebooted at some point. Then again, does Marvel really need to jump in on the vampire bandwagon right now? Twilight, Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Dracula Untold, Castlevania, Underworld… I think the vampire genre can wait. How about Moon Knight?

We may not have any solid announcements on Blade, but Spider-man: Homecoming does come out tomorrow on July 7.
