Sony Developing Solo Film For Spider-Man Supporting Character Silk

While Sony and Marvel Studios are currently sharing the film rights of Spider-Man, the former is still trying to make movies based on the web-head's supporting cast members or villains. Venom will be the first of these films, coming out in October, but with Silver and Black getting removed from Sony's scheduled projects, one has to wonder what is next.

According to Deadline, it could be Silk. The character is a fairly recent addition to Spider-Man's supporting cast, first debuting in the Amazing Spider-Man tie-in to Original Sin, and it will be interesting to see how they approach this film.

Silk, real name Cindy Moon, was bitten by the same spider that gave Peter Parker his powers but only surfaced recently due to her concern over the year 2000 possibly being the end of the world. She has the same powers as Peter, and can also shoot webs from her fingertips.

Not much is known about the Silk movie, though Amy Pascal has reportedly been revealed as the film's producer. It's not yet known if they will turn the Cindy Moon from Spider-Man: Homecoming into a superhero or start her off in a different universe unrelated to the MCU. It will be interesting to see regardless.
