Solo: Donald Glover Comments on Lando's Pansexuality

Donald Glover's Lando Calrissian has gotten a lot of attention lately, with some feeling that the character is getting more attention than Ehrenreich's Han Solo. While he is a younger version of an old character, fans were surprised when the writers of Solo: A Star Wars Story revealed that he was pansexual. Glover has now offered his own comments and they make a ton of sense.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, the actor and musician actually asked why someone like Lando wouldn't be pansexual, noting that there are plenty of things the character can fornicate with. With that kind of context, one has to wonder how anyone can limit their sexuality in space, so Glover gains brownie points for that.

"How can you not be pansexual in space? There are so many things to have sex with. I didn't think that was that weird. Yeah, he's coming on to everybody. I mean, yeah, whatever. It just didn't seem that weird to me ‘cause I feel like if you're in space it's kind of like, the door is open! It's like, no, only guys or girls. No, it's anything. This thing is literally a blob. Are you a man or a woman? Like, who cares? Have good time out here."

Glover also brings up how original Lando actor Billy Dee Williams told him to be charming, which helped guide how he would act as the character. The actor felt that the character would use his charm to hit on anything that moves, hence why his becoming pansexual. He also revealed that he didn't put much thought into it, which is totally fine.

Now that Solo: A Star Wars Story is a few days away, it will be interesting to see how Glover's Lando compares to the original. Fans of Glover already want him to headline a solo film, though we will have to wait and see.

Solo hits theaters on May 25.
