Shots Fired: Deadpool Pokes Fun At Batman V Superman

What is Deadpool without all the snarky remarks and meta commentary. Everyone who saw Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice thought that the "Martha!" scene was weird, and Wade Wilson pokes fun at the very same scene in Deadpool Versus the Punisher #5.

In the comic (via ComicBook), Deadpool and the Punisher are having at it, and when Punisher starts to swear at Deadpool, then Wade suddenly interrupts him with the whole "Martha" spiel.

Granted Batman fighting Superman was one of the most iconic brawls in comics, the reason for their clash on BvS was based on paper-thin margins. I mean, how hard is it to explain to Batman that Luthor is framing him by holding Martha hostage? Then when the fight ends, it's just because their mothers had the same name.

Interestingly enough, the exchange with Deadpool and Punisher ends with a pretty cool line.

With Deadpool 2 set for a release next year, you can bet that Ryan Reynolds is going to bring in some more superhero meta humor. In the first movie, he talked about the timelines being confusing and the studio not having the budget for more X-Men. Surely he'll have something interesting to say in the sequel as well.

Deadpool 2 comes out June 1, 2018.
