A recent leak from the set of Shazam! has given us our first glimpse of the Captain Marvel outfit that Zachary Levi will be wearing in the movie, and though DC hasn't given us an official look yet, Levi is hopeful that we'll get a reveal soon.
Taking to Instagram (via ScreenRant), Levi said:
"How did everyone like that Shazam! pic that was online yesterday? Kinda crazy, right? That wasn't planned, that was completely unplanned. Hopefully, we'll be able to have a better pic at some point out there for people to see."
The leaked picture gave us a good look at the back of the suit, but it was enough to reveal Captain Marvel's boots, belt, and gauntlets. The last thing we really need to see is the shield on his chest. Director David F. Sandberg has said that the suit closely resembles Captain Marvel's look from the animated movie, Justice League: War.
If we're talking first looks, Shazam! should have gotten a leaf from Deadpool 2's book. They released official images of Cable before they started shooting out in the open, where there's bound to be set photos of actors in costume. Though I appreciate the leaked photo, I still would have preferred our first look at Captain Marvel to be more official.
Shazam! comes out April 5, 2019.
