Sense8 Stars Reveal The Moment They Wish Fans Could Have Seen

Earlier this month, Netflix cancelled one of its best original shows, Sense8, and over 500,000 fans signed a petition to bring it back. However, it looks like the streaming service has made up its mind and won't renew the Wachowskis' brilliant series for a third season. Now, two stars of the sci-fi series have revealed the one scene they wish fans could have seen before the show was cancelled.

Sense8, created by Lana and Lilly Wachowski, followed eight strangers from different parts of the world who suddenly become "sensates" and share a psychic bond.

Jamie Clayton, who played the transgender hacker, told The Gay Times: "That's the one thing that breaks my heart, that we won't get to see that."

"That's the one thing that breaks my heart, that we won't get to see that."

At the last episode of the show's second season, Nomi and Neets proposed to each other, so it's expected that we would see their wedding in the next season. However, Netflix crushed our dreams of seeing the continuation of this awesome show.

Freema Agyeman, who played Neets, told The Gay Times there was a five-year plan for the series before Netflix cancelled it just two seasons in.

"When we used to have our read throughs and so much was happening and we didn't really understand all of it ourselves because there was this five-year story arc that was written," she explained. "If anyone would ask the question ‘We don't understand that bit,' the creators would always be like, ‘You'll find out when the audiences finds out.'

"So two years in, it was barely half way to revealing itself to the audience, and we were just finding out the answers ourselves," she sdded.

Sense8 was praised for its diverse cast of characters and global scope, and both stars thought that the show had a significant impact on the LGBT community.

"I was just at Trans Pride in Los Angeles, and I know through social media that it's touched so many different people in different ways," Clayton told the publication.

"But to experience what it's been like for people in person – for them to come and hold my hand and look me in the eye and tell me what it means to them personally – it's been such an amazing experience."

Freema added that fans have thanked her for representing them "honestly and genuinely."

"I just remember thinking when I got the opportunity to play this role, I just hope at the very least I do it justice because I'm painfully aware of the inequality and prejudice that the LGBTI community face," she said. "We were so overjoyed that it was received so positively, and that we can help with our contribution towards the cause."

Earlier this month, Netflix boss Tedd Sarandos said that Sense8's reported million-dollar price tag per episode was too expensive. "A big, expensive show for a tiny audience is hard – even in our model – to make that work for very long," he explained.

He added: "[Creators Lana and Lilly Wachowski] did a beautiful show… the audience was very passionate, but not large enough to support the economics of something that big, even on our platform.'

Whatever, Netflix. You can continue making Orange is the New Black and Amy Schumer shows, and not continue your greatest original show? I hope some other network like HBO acquires the rights to produce Sense8 and continue this amazing series, and show us Nomi and Neets' special moment.

As fans, the best thing we can do now is request Season 3 on Netflix.
