Secret of Rey's Parents Revealed in Star Wars: The Force Awakens?

By now, you've probably heard a bunch of theories regarding the true identity of Rey's parents. Ever since Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released last year, fans started speculating who they are, but we'll probably have to wait for Star Wars: Episode VIIi to solve that mystery.

Daisy Ridley just told Time Out: London that she's a bit surprised that fans haven't guessed who Rey's parents are, based on the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Could it be someone we already know like Luke Skywalker or Obi-wan Kenobi? Or is she related to Kylo Ren? Or possibly an offspring of Han or Leia after they were separated?

"I thought a lot was answered in The Force Awakens," Ridley said. "Then after the screening I went for a drink with my agent and everyone, and we were chatting away and I realized that, ‘Oh, in their minds its not answered at all!'"

Back in April, J.J. Abrams clarified his statement about Rey's parents, saying that Rey doesn't discover them in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Based on Ridley's comment and Abrams' , it sounds like The Force Awakens provided clues for the mystery more than what we initially thought, so this most likely means that Rogue One's Jyn Erso isn't related to her after all, contrary to a popular theory.

Hopefully, Star Wars: Episode VIII will provide a compelling answer when it comes out in theaters on December 15, 2017. Who do you think Rey's parents are? Head over to the comments section below to share your thoughts.
