Secret Message Hidden in Nintendo Famicom's Mini's Code Unveiled

There's a secret message hidden deep within the code of the Nintendo Famicom Mini. According to Siliconera, the code reads:

"This is hanafuda captain speaking. Launching emulation in 3..2..1. Many efforts, tears and countless hours have been put into this jewel. So, please keep this place tidied up and don't break everything!
"Cheers, the hanafuda captain."

The secret message could be interpreted as a message to potential hackers seeking for a way to alter the emulation machine's base code, but sadly for the hanfuda captain, the NES Mini has been hacked, Ars Technica reports.

A recently-uploaded video showed a method for adding new games to the micro-console after following steps and using a USB cable.

'Hanafuda" means "flower cards", which is a throwback to the days when Nintendo made hand-painted cards from mulberry tree bark.

The NES Mini isn't much of a huge hit, but gamers are looking forward to the Nintendo Switch and its major reveal event on Thursday, January 12 at 8 p.m. PT/11 p.m. ET (Friday, January 13 at 4 a.m. UK/2 p.m. AET)
