Scott Eastwood Wants To Be Rebooted Wolverine

Hugh Jackman officially hung up the yellow and blue tights of Wolverine he never got to wear. The actor had been Wolverine for the longest time and it's going to be hard to replace him, especially after his gut-wrenching performance in Logan.

Most fans have considered it a bit blasphemous replacing Jackman with anyone else but it looks like Scott Eastwood is willing to take a gander at the role.

During an interview with Screen Rant, the Pacific Rim star stated that he was open to playing superhero roles. When he answered yes, the interviewee brought up how Eastwood is often fan-cast as the most popular member of the X-Men and it looks like he wouldn't mind. In fact, he claimed that Wolverine was one of his favorite comic book characters.

Screen Rant: A lot of people have fancast you as Wolverine, have you heard this?
Scott Eastwood: I've heard this.
Screen Rant: What do you think about that?
Scott Eastwood: I love Wolverine. He's one of my favorite comic book characters of all time. He's a renegade. Total badass renegade. He's kind of, you know, a loose cannon…doesn't play by the rules…he's the kind of character that I love.
Screen Rant: If they got that call, you'd be totally down for the Wolverine?
Scott Eastwood: 100%

With Jackman officially retiring the character and Disney gaining the X-Men rights by 2019 or so, it will be interesting to see who plays as the character. Eastwood is a bit young but it could lead to a refreshing version of the character. Of course, Marvel has stated that there won't be an X-Men MCU film anytime soon due to the nature of the deal Disney made with Fox.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is set to come out Nov. 2.
