Complain all you want, but Sony is moving forward with their Spider-Man spinoffs set outside the MCU. One of those movies will be focusing on Silver Sable and Black Cat called Black & Silver and the villains have been revealed for the film.
According to That Hashtag Show, the main villain will be Mendel Stromm and his minions will be Scorpion and Tarantula from the comics. Crime boss Tombstone is also said to be in the movie, and he'll resemble his look from the comics which includes pointed teeth and rock-hard skin.
Since the Scorpion was introduced (though not by his villain name) in Spider-Man: Homecoming, we can't really tell if Michael Mando will be reprising his role as Mac Gargan. I'm just sitting here hoping that Sony makes another deal soon to have their spinoffs in the MCU. Then again, some part of me also wants to see the movie fail so Sony can learn their lesson and keep creative control over at Marvel. How hard is it to keep it together, Sony?
So far, we don't have that much details on Silver & Black, but with San Diego Comic-Con coming by the end of the month, Sony could give us some good looks at Venom and this movie. Maybe they could even announce that the whole "our spinoffs won't be part of the MCU" was a big joke. I'm really hoping that happens.
No official release date has been announced for Silver & Black.
