Ryan Reynolds Paid to Have the Deadpool Writers on Set

Ryan Reynolds himself paid to have the Deadpool writers on set, AMC reports. Ryan Reynolds is, of course, the actor who plays Deadpool. In an interview on an episode of AMC's Geeking Out, Deadpool screenwiters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick talked about how Reynolds covered their travel expenses.

"We were there every day [on the set]," the writers said. "Ryan wanted us there, we were on the project for six years. It was really a core creative team of us, Ryan, and the director Tim Miller. Fox interestingly wouldn't pay for us to be on set. Ryan Reynolds paid out of his own money, out of his own pocket."

This is not the first report of Reynolds commitment to the Deadpool movie. He was probably one of the big reasons the movie even got made at all. He reveals how he put his "last drop of blood" into it in an interview with The LA Times. It's rumored that he was the one who leaked the footage that generated enough hype to get Deadpool going.

Reynolds was also the one who worked to get the approved $10,000 they needed to have the rights to show Bea Arthur's image in the movie. The character is a huge fan of Bea Arthur and Reynolds was so commited to being true to Wade Wilson, he knew Bea absolutely had to be referenced in the movie.

Reynolds will certainly give anyone a run for their money in devotion to Deadpool. I think his dedication is impressive. What do you think of Reynolds and Deadpool?
