Ryan Reynolds, Chadwick Boseman, Emilia Clarke And 150 Stars Sign Letter Asking For Gender Equality

It looks like Deadpool 2's Ryan Reynolds, Black Panther's Chadwick Boseman, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright and more than one hundred fifty other celebrities have signed a letter promising commitment to striving towards gender equality.

Teaming up with ONE, an international non-partisan advocacy fighting against poverty and preventable disease, these stars have decided to help and try to create some meaningful change for women in the workforce.

Check out part of the letter Boseman and the others signed for ONE (via The Hollywood Reporter):

"Dear World leaders, We're putting you on notice. For 130 million girls without an education. For one billion women without access to a bank account. For 39,000 girls who became child brides today. For women everywhere paid less than a man for the same work. There is nowhere on earth where women have the same opportunities as men, but the gender gap is wider for women living in poverty. Poverty is sexist."

The letter is part of ONE's campaign #PovertyIsSexist. The fourth annual letter for the movement was published way back in March, telling world leaders that they need to deliver powerful changes for women and girls living in extreme poverty." Looking for some celebrity support, the ONE #PovertyIsSexist campaign has managed to gain the signatures of notable stars like Emilia Clark Tina Fey, Amy Pehler, Reese Witherspoon, Natalie Portman, Amy Schumer, Mindy Kaling, Elizabeth Banks, Lena Dunham, Natalie Dormer, Rashida Jones, Neil Patrick Harris, Robin Wright, Zachary Quinto, Zendaya, Thandie Newton, Bono, Gina Rodriguez, Michelle Monaghan, and others.

Hollywood stars weren't the only ones who signed the letter though. Author John Green, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and many other non-actors signed ONE's letter asking for equality.

Though it'll take more than just a letter to end sexism and poverty, seeing people unite to fight for a good cause does help brighten your day. Hopefully, the letter does something good for women everywhere.
