Rurouni Kenshin Mobile Game On Its Way

What a time to be alive. The anime adaptation of the classic 90's samurai manga Rurouni Kenshin is getting its very own mobile game.

Anime News Network reports that one of Japan's most beloved anime series has inspired the development of a Rurouni Kenshin smartphone app under the title Rurouni Kenshin, Meiji Kenkaku Romantan: Kengeki Kenran. Under development by Bandai Namco Entertainment, the app is currently open for iOS and Android pre-registration on the game's official website.

There're not that much information on the upcoming Rurouni Kenshin game though it does have a tagline that goes "I will cut open a path to the future with my sword."

For those who aren't familiar with the original manga, Rurouni Kenshin is a shonen series written and illustrated by Nobuhiro Watsuki that began publication in 1994. The manga focuses on the story of a former Bakamatsu assassin known as Hitokiri Battosai, otherwise known as Kenshin Himura. Dedicating his life to atoning for his past sins, Himura travels across Japan with his comrades to stand for the oppressed. Rurouni Kenshin is a classic title that many love, giving Kengeki Kenran better chances at picking up an audience.
