Rumor: Spyro the Dragon Remaster Coming Out This Year

After the success of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, fans have been hoping to get more of these intense HD remasters. While a new Crash game would be great, fans also want to see Spyro the Dragon get the same HD treatment as his former rival. If this recent bit of information is correct, we could be getting a collection of these games this year.

Kotaku UK is claiming that an HD Spyro collection will be announced by Activision and Vicarious Visions sometime in March and come out on Q3 2018. Like the N. Sane Trilogy, it will have a completely new graphics engine while also keeping the same level design and gameplay that made this platformer fun in the first place.

Similar to the N. Sane Trilogy, this collection will feature enhanced versions of Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage, and Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon. All three games are pretty darn good and the HD collection will likely have new cutscenes, similar to the Crash collection.

There will also be an updated save system, which should be good. The original version of Crash had one of the worst save systems of all time, so when that was patched up in the N. Sane Trilogy, fans were pleased. Expect something similar for the first Spyro game, since the two sequels already fixed this.

Here is hoping that the rumor is true.
