Rotten Tomatoes Score of Justice League Won't Be Revealed Until Opening Day

Justice League will finally hit theaters this weekend, but if you were expecting to see its Rotten Tomatoes score up before its release, you're going to have to wait.

The aggregate score for the highly-anticipated DC film won't be revealed on Rotten Tomatoes until its opening day. This is a bad sign that suggests the studio isn't confident that the film will be well-received by critics. Warner Bros. owns a minority stake in Rotten Tomatoes, so it's possible that they're saving the major reveals in their new Facebook show See It/Skip It. The show critiques films before revealing their Rotten Tomatoes scores at the end of each episode. In previous episodes, films like Bad Moms Christmas, Thor: Ragnarok and Murder on the Orient Express have been critiqued in episodes before unveiling their aggregate score. As THR puts it:

"If a Tomatometer rating is good, Hollywood studios may not be happy to see their movies being selected for the See It/Skip It reveal, since the score is a powerful marketing tool in and of itself. Conversely, if a score is rotten, the delay could prove a blessing"

Based on what the critics said about the film so far, I predict the film will get around 60% to 70% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The film has been praised for being fun and more humorous compared to previous DC films but many critics pointed out its narrative flaws and lackluster villain.

Justice League will be out in theaters on Friday.
