Rogue One Star and Mindy Project Writer Show Interest in Writing Ms. Marvel Movie

Ever since Kevin Feige announced that there are plans to bring the Kamala Khan version of Ms. Marvel into the MCU, fans have been going crazy about seeing the hero on the big screen. It might be too soon to assume that she will be in a Phase Four Marvel film but Feige's positive words have made fans hopeful for Kamala's future.

It looks like Feige and the fans aren't the only ones who want to bring Kamala to the movies, as Rogue One star Riz Ahmed has shown interest in writing her feature film. He doesn't plan on doing it alone, however, as he also nominated The Mindy Project's Mindy Kaling and The Big Sick's Kumail Nanjiani.

While Nanjiani has yet to respond, Kaling has shown interest as well, pointing out on Twitter that she is "obsessed" with the Marvel comic book. No one can really blame her since Ms. Marvel is a very solid comic book and has been consistently good thanks to the presence of writer G. Willow Wilson, who has written all of Kamala's solo adventures since her debut.

One can imagine how the character can debut in a Captain Marvel sequel since she looks up to the character, or maybe even a future Avengers film ala Spider-Man. Should the character remain prominent, we could eventually see a film version of her group The Champions, though that's all just speculation admittedly.

Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 6, 2019. Don't expect a release date for Ms. Marvel anytime soon.
