Rogue One Reshoots Rumored To Be Caused By Young Han Solo Cameo

When news broke earlier this week of weeks of "expensive" reshoots for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, fans became disconcerted, especially since some media outlets cited sensationalist reasons for the reshoots.

In any case, as days pass, it looks more apparent that the reshoots are indeed true. You can make out a hint of it in Donnie Yen's recent interview. However, while some news outlets claim that the real reason for the reshoots are because of its "tone" not matching that of previously released Star Wars films, there's a new rumor saying that the reshoots are simply for the inclusion of a young Han Solo in the narrative.

Rumors emerged of a young Han Solo cameo when Variety‘s Justin Kroll tweeted that sources are assuring fans that not only are the reshoots expected, but that they're also because a cameo is being snuck in the story. Take a look:

Naturally, this prompted major fan speculation as to which character will be included. One of those speculations is Alden Ehrenreich's young Han Solo, especially since it's only been a few weeks since the 26-year-old actor was cast in the highly coveted role.

These rumors, and Kroll's tweet, also comes after a report from Variety earlier this year claiming that indeed, a young Han Solo will appear in Rogue One.

If this is true, we could see Ehrenreich's Han sooner than expected. I'm not sure how the cameo will be able to fit in the story, but it does make sense if the decision to include a young Han Solo in the movie has been made recently, and by recent I mean this week. If it's true that Disney execs didn't like Rian Johnson's initial cut of the movie, then they must have thought debuting the Ehrenreich's Han would catch audience interest.

I must admit that even though this is a rumor, I got pretty excited at the prospect of seeing the young Han Solo in Rogue One.

It must be noted that until proven otherwise, this news remains a rumor. I guess we'll find out whether Han will be in Rogue One or not in December.

Movie Synopsis:

Following the foundation of the Galactic Empire, a wayward band of Rebel fighters comes together to carry out a desperate mission: to steal the plans for the Death Star before it can be used to enforce the Emperor's rule.
