Though there are fans who scoff at the concept of Riverdale, the show is actually a hit on Netflix, and a spinoff is said to be in the works centered on another popular comic character, Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

According to SpoilerTV, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has already been ordered for two 10-episode seasons on Netflix, and they’re set to come out sometime in 2018–2019. Though Sabrina is best known for her wacky antics and lighthearted humor, the series is said to go the same direction as Riverdale and go dark as well.

What’s interesting though, is the fact that Sabrina won’t have any influence from CBS, giving it the same freedom that a streaming service like Netflix offers (mature content, etc.). The only downside is, the separation of studios might affect Sabrina’s ability to crossover with Riverdale. Sounds like the same reason why Marvel Netflix never gets at least a mention in the MCU.

For now, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is set to shoot both seasons back –to-back, and production is said to take place from February to October 2018. We don’t have that much info on the rest of the show, but we’ll probably get more details by the end of the year.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is based on the comic of the same name, and still has no set release date.
