Rick and Morty 4 Delay is Due to Contract Negotiations

Rick and Morty co-creator Dan Harmon had revealed that the status of the fourth season is still up in the air, but now we have details on why the show is still taking so long to move forward. Apparently, it all boils down to contract negotiation.

Talking to Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier's SModcast, Harmon explains:

"The reason we're not working on Rick and Morty right now ain't because I figured out that I don't need to impress you. It's because of a little something called contract negotiations and it's gotten complicated this time around."

Some fans have also gone online to start looking for who to blame when it comes to the delay, and Harmon gave a little lecture about the process being natural when it comes to making shows.

Though I would prefer that we got regular releases of Rick and Morty every year, there really isn't anything that the fans can do but just wait this out. Like Harmon said, the network is aware of the success of Rick and Morty, so there's probably no way that the show would be cancelled.

For now, at least.

No release date has been set for Rick and Morty Season 4.
