Rick And Morty Season 3 Premiere Will Be An Hour-Long Special

After months of waiting for any update on the third season of Adult Swim's Rick and Morty, we haven't been getting anything from the developers. Though neither Justin Roiland or Dan Harmon are making any official announcements, the episode listing for IMDb has revealed that the first episode of season three will be an hour long.

Besides the runtime, there's no official synopsis or summary on what the episode will be about. My best bet that it will deal with Rick escaping the prison planet that he was left in at the end of season two. Harmon himself had confirmed last year that he didn't want to linger too long with the fact that Rick was in major trouble. He said:

"I don't think anybody wants to do a third season that simply spends a whole bunch of episodes dealing with a situation that we created at the end of the second season. So I think that's a non-spoiler way of saying things should be okay pretty quickly."

As for the release date, we initially thought that the third season was going to come out July this year, but as it turns out, the trailer was just a re-hash from a promo for season two back in 2015. Konbini is expecting another release date on April 24, but we'll just have to wait out how legit that air date is.

No official air date has been announced for Rick and Morty season three.
