Rian Johnson Talks About The Best And Worst Parts Making Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Rian Johnson might have had a lot of fun working on Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but even the director that Lucasfilm's been happy to hand over the responsibility of building Star Wars new trilogy after Episode IX has a few frustrations with his work.

Attending a press event in Mexico to help promote The Last Jedi (via Comicbook), Johnson decided to open up about some of the difficulties he's had working on The Force Awakens sequel.

"I had such a good time making the movie," the filmmaker said. "The most difficult, frustrating thing for me is waiting for it to come out. We finished it a while ago, over a month ago. So I've just been sitting, waiting to finally get to show it to audiences. I hope it'll come soon."

That isn't really much of a frustration (also, Johnson's assistant really needs to remind him that his movie's coming out in three weeks), there could be other things to complain about, really. Johnson also decided to talk about what he thought was the best part about working on the film.

"For me, the most satisfying thing was getting to work with the cast," Johnson went on while naming all of the actors in The Last Jedi. "Every single day, I got to come to work and work with these guys and it was a real privilege."

Guess Johnson's just really, really happy to be with everyone. It's good to know that Lucasfilm picked someone this eager to work in the franchise as the helmsman of its new trilogy.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits cinemas December 15, 2017.
