Rian Johnson Shares New Star Wars: The Last Jedi Stormtroopers Set Photo

This April, the cast and crew of Star Wars: The Last Jedi will share updates about the film in Star Wars Celebration Orlando. The first trailer for Episode VIII will most likely be released by that time, and now, the director revealed a new photo to celebrate his upcoming panel.

On Tumblr, Rian Johnson showed a black-and-white photo of two lines of stormtroopers. One of the stormtroopers stands out as his helmet is tilted up. Behind them, several place markers are seen stuck onto what seems to be a green screen.

"We're coming to Orlando for a Star Wars Celebration panel on April 14th, and I cannot wait. See you there!" Johnson said.

The Last Jedi is the sequel to 2015's The Force Awakens, and continues the story of Rey, Finn, Poe, and Kylo Ren as they follow the legacy of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Leia. Daisy Ridley is reprising her role as Rey, and other returning stars include Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, Domhall Gleeson, Andy Serkis, Peter Mayhew, Lupita Nyong'o, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill. Newcomers Benicio Del Toro and Laura Dern will also join the cast but their roles haven't been revealed yet.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is set to release in theaters on December 15, 2017.
