Resident Evil 2 Remake Officially in the Works, Capcom Confirms

We're living in the age of reboots and remakes. Back in June, Square Enix announced the Final Fantasy VII remake; now, another classic game of my second favorite franchise (first is Final Fantasy) is about to get a remake.

Capcom has released a video officially announcing that a Resident Evil 2 remake is in the works. R&D Division Producer Yoshiaki Hirabyashi, a.k.a. H, delivered the video message:

"It's been great to see so many positive comments from fans that have pushed the project to get approved. The team here at Capcom Japan really appreciates fans' passion and support and will do our best to bring fans what they really want."

Great! We'll be able to play as Leon or Claire in Raccoon City again!

Since the project was just approved, no release date has been announced yet, but in the meantime, Resident Evil fans can look forward to the HD remaster of Resident Evil Zero, releasing in early 2016.
