Raja Ilya has been cast for a Marvel movie, star2reports. Ilya is a Malaysian actress known for her roles in works like LuQman. She revealed her involvement with Marvel at a press conference for her upcoming movie Soulmate Hingga Jannah.
"I can't (give) any accurate shooting location(s) for now. I've just been informed (I will) fly to Hollywood by the end of the year for role selection and for which Marvel title (I will be in)," Ilya said in an interview.
"The offer came from someone I know from Indonesia who has already acted in a few Marvel and Disney movies," Ilya said when she was asked how she got the role. "Now I just have to get prepared for the moment of my life."
Ilya also revealed that she will be training with martial artist Yayan Ruhian "for about six months. Yayan is a martial artist and actor who was previously involved with both Raid and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Ilya didn't explicitly confirm it, but her training is presumably in preperation for her Marvel role, since she said she had to complete the classes before she could "fly to Hollywood".
It's always good to see actors who relatively unkown in the US get a chance to be in those movies. It sounds like Ilya's role will involve some fighting so it seems likely she's a hero, villain or some kind of law enforcment agent. Do you have any speculation for who Ilya might be playing?
