Prince William and Harry's Cameos Were Cut From Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Recent Star Wars films have had a ton of fun celebrity cameos since many actor and actresses love the science-fantasy franchise. Star Wars: The Last Jedi might have some cameos as well but it looks like two notable ones have been cut from the final film. John Boyega, who portrays Finn in The Last Jedi, recently confirmed that Prince Harry and William had cameos but were cut from the theatrical cut.

Speaking with This Morning (via Newsweek), Boyega confirmed the long-running rumor about the royal's cameos but goes on to say that they were cut at the last minute. This is probably why director Rian Johnson was hesitant to say if they would be in the film since now we know that the two princes' were removed from the current build of the film. While there are always deleted scenes from the Blu-Ray, it won't feel the same.

Boyega also said he apologized to Prince William. Here's the full quote:

"I did personally apologize to them yesterday and said, ‘Sorry you were cut out of the film.' Will was like, ‘I probably just need to work more on the skill.'"

The two princes' appearing in the film was hardly a secret. Both of them had visited the set of the film, so many assumed something was up. It's a shame that their cameos were all for naught but it's not like they were the main characters. Apparently, they would have just been stormtroopers like previous cameos.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters this week on December 15.
