Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Goes Beyond Alola, Introduces New Worlds

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will go beyond Alola and let players travel to entirely different worlds where Ultra Beasts roam. That's right, Pokemon is going cosmic and it might be enough to get fans to double dip on these games. As if that wasn't enough, the two games will also have new antagonists and Ultra Beasts for players who thought these were just ordinary re-releases.

One of the new worlds spotlighted is Ultra Megalopolis, a world where Necromza has stolen the light. It is a beautiful new world with a heavy sci-fi aesthetic, making it entirely different from Alola and other Pokemon games before it. While Pokemon Platinum did have one unique world, it pales in comparison to the multiple worlds here.

As for new foes, Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are introducing the Ultra Recon Squad. Comprised of new characters named Dulse, Zossie, Phyco, and Soliera, they were previously teased in a Japanese poster promoting the games. It looks like they aren't a branch of the Aether Foundation and look to shake up these two games in a big way.

The Ultra Recon Squad aren't ordinary trainers. Instead of regular Pokemon, the new group uses Ultra Beasts in battle. The regular versions of Pokemon Sun and Moon just had wild Ultra Beats, so this is new to the series.

Fans were skeptical when Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon were announced, but Game Freak may have assured fans a completely new experience with these revelations. The two games come to 3DS on November 17.
