Pokémon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee Have New Requirements for Battling Gym Leaders

Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee received mixed reactions when announced, with many not knowing how to feel about the Pokemon GO-like features. Some have decided to ignore the game and wait for the mainline title in 2019, while others are going in optimistic and giving it a chance.

That might change a bit when they find out that there is a requirement system that players have to partake in if they want to challenge gym leaders.

According to the game's Japanese website (translated by Siliconera), the man who is near the gym's entrance will now give players a list of things to do before they can challenge the gym. It can range from catching a specific Pokemon type to reaching a certain level with monsters.

Obviously, this move was made so that younger players or casual fans would be able to progress in the game properly. The developers had previously stated that the game was targeted towards newer players and those that got into the series via Pokemon GO.

No matter how one looks at this, there's no doubt that this decision will divide older fans of the Pokemon games. Hopefully, this system is implemented well and the game ends up being a good one.

Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee comes out on November 16.
