Pokemon Go’s Adventure Week Starts Off With A Swarm Of Pseudo-Legendary Pokemon

It looks like Pokemon Go players are finally getting closer to getting Legendary Pokemon on Niantic's augmented reality videogaming app.

Niantic has just recently launched its new "Adventure Week" gaming event for Pokemon Go, increasing the chances of happening on a Rock-Type Pokemon (and othergoodies) for gamers. Playing right after the event began at 4:30 PM ET today were able to uncover a surprise treat that Niantic failed to mention: Larvitar spawning during the event.

Gamers who spotted the extremely rare dual rock and ground type Pokemon immediately took to Reddit to announce the surprise. For those who aren't familiar with the Pokemon, Larvitar is a creature that evolves right into Tyranitar, a pseudo-legendary Pokemon which is one of the most powerful in the game.

However, while many were thrilled to see the Pokemon spawning, the Larvitar appearances decreased an hour after the Pokemon were spotted. People are still reporting sightings of the Larvitar, however it seems like they're much rare than before.

While Niantic has not commented on the Larvitar spawns, the appearance of the Pokemon is quite similar to the time gamers got the massive swarm of Dratini during Pokemon Go's Water Festival event back in March. Could Niantic have done this deliberately, or could they have done it by accident?

Pokemon Go's "Adventure Week" lasts until May 25.
