Pokemon Go Update Fixes Connectivity Issues, Possible Johto ‘Mons Coming

Things have started to quiet down once again in Pokemon Go thanks to the lack of new events following the Christmas and New Year's Eve bonanza. However, this may turn around once developer Niantic Labs fulfills its plans for a new update.

Android Police obtained a copy of the Pokemon Trainer Club newsletter, which contained a tease announcement for the mobile game.

"Pokemon originally discovered in the Johto region have begun to appear in Pokemon Go! Start looking for them today."

Those who are not familiar with may want to know that the Johto region is encompassed by the Pokemo Silver and Pokemon Gold titles. It was already announced that ‘mons from these games will be attainable via eggs. But from the looks of it, they will finally be available in the wild.

In case you've already skipped some weeks of play, Togepi, Pichu, Igglybuff, Cleffa, Smoochum, Elekid, and Magby are already available via the egg hatching mechanic I myself have gotten my Igglybuff from a five-kilometer Egg.

Also worth noting is a new update 0.55.0 for Android and 1.25.0 for iOS, as announced via the official Pokemon Go website. The updates are mostly minor fixes, enumerated below

Reduced the starting load time on Android devices
Resolved Android connectivity issues for the Pokemon Go Plus accessory
Integrated iOS wheelchair support for use with Apple Watch
Minor text fixes

The newsletter and new updates don't provide a timeline of when exactly these will be available, as the newsletter may have been released early. But it would be nice to see some new faces in the wild. Because I don't want to wait for another event just to get myself some special ‘mons.
