Pokemon GO is About To Surpass Twitter in Terms of Daily Active Users

Pokemon GO, the augmented reality smartphone app, has taken the world by storm, capturing the imaginations of fans all over the world. The fact that the game's servers are struggling to keep up with demand gives us an idea how many people are using it, but Similar Web suggests that Pokemon GO is bigger than anyone could have expected.

Pokemon GO is approaching a daily active user rate simial to Twitter. The data comparing the monthly active users shws that the game is going neck and neck with Twitter, and it will most likely have more Daily Active Users in a few more days than the established social media network.

As of July 8, Pokemon GO is installed on 5.16 percent of all Android devices in the US. That might not sound like much, but it had overtaken the dating app Tinder in concurrent Android installs.

Pokemon GO is also successful when it comes to engagement. Over 60 percent of people who have downloaded it are using it every single day.

The usage time for the app is also astonishing. As of July 8, the game was being used for an average of 43 minutes, 23 seconds a day - that's higher than Facebook's Messenger app, Snapchat, Instagram, and Whatsapp.

The app isn't even available everywhere in the world yet. Niantic has paused a global rollout while it tries to fix various server issues it's currently experiencing. The developer is also planning to introduce a new trading-in game, AR device, and more additions for the game soon.
