Pokemon GO is a much better game now than it was when it first came out, but it's still missing a number of key features. While the boss raids and additional monsters have been nice, fans are still hoping to see trading and PVP battles implemented. Fans have been promised these new features a number of times, with the most recent promise coming from the Pokemon CEO himself.
During an interview with Bloomberg, Tsunekazu Ishihara said that these heavily requested gameplay mechanics will be coming soon. Ishihara also stated that the current version of the mobile game is only 10% of the vision they have for the popular title. While no one can deny the impact made by the popular augmented reality (AR) game, the lack of a release window is going to annoy some, since this promise has been made a number of times.
Admittedly, this is the first time the CEO of Pokemon acknowledged that the features would be coming to Pokemon GO, so that might add more credibility than usual. It's also a bit much to expect these features right away, considering the amount of updates Niantic releases to keep the game playable. That being said, constantly being told that the features are coming without seeing any progress can be bothersome, hence the amount of fans that have stopped playing the mobile title altogether.
Hopefully, the trade and PVP mechanics are handled well in Pokemon GO. It's always been a Pokemon fan's dream to meet other trainers in real life and duke it out with their Pokemon, and this AR game is closest way to achieve that. While fans don't want to see a rushed effort, we'd rather be surprised with their sudden appearance, rather than constantly be told about them.
Pokemon GO is available now on iOS and Android devices. Most of the monsters from the first and second generation can be caught, with legendaries available during boss raids.
