Pink Power Ranger Naomi Scott In The Running To Play Jasmine In The Live-Action Aladdin

After the success of Beauty and the Beast, Disney is more sure than ever that it's moving forward with the live-action reboots of all their classic movies. One of the movies on that list is Aladdin, and the production is currently eyeing Power Rangers actress Naomi Scott for the role of Princess Jasmine.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Scott is one of the lead choices for the role, but she will have to compete with Indian actress Tara Sutaria. Seeing that Scott has probably has more star power than Sutaria, the role of Jasmine could definitely be hers. Scott has already had more roles under her belt, and the most interesting thing about Sutaria is that she's in the Indian version of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. True story:

One of the holdups is that the role of Aladdin has yet to be cast, and the casting of Jasmine will have to depend on their chemistry with the leading man.

To be honest, I'm a huge fan of Guy Ritchie, and I'm kind of irritated that he keeps making these flop period pieces (like King Arthur: Legend of the Sword). I really want to see him get to work on another modern crime-comedy, and I think he would be the perfect director for a Suicide Squad movie. Who even asked for an Aladdin reboot?

There is no official release date for the live-action Aladdin movie.
