Piglet, Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore Revealed in New Image from Disney’s Christopher Robin

Disney has a lot of live-action remakes in their hands including Aladdin, Mulan, and Mary Poppins Returns. This year will also see the release of a live-action Winnie the Pooh film titled Christopher Robin, and we have a new image of Pooh and the gang courtesy of Entertainment Weekly:

For now we have a good look at Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger, but we have yet to see classic characters like Rabbit, Kanga, and Owl. Maybe the film will even go so far and give us a look at a heffalump.

The titular role of Christopher Robin will be played by Ewan McGregor, and he had this to say about the film:

"In those older stories, [Christopher Robin] purveys a lot of wisdom through the way he deals with Pooh. Pooh and Eeyore run through a lot of philosophical questions, and Christopher Robin is there to answer them somehow. And I think, largely, he's just lost any of that childish wisdom and he's a bit stuck. He's just very work-minded and doesn't have any time for play. I suppose that's what the film is about: finding his relationship with his younger self again."

Just based on the first trailer, it looks like this movie is going to be a tearjerker. There's just something emotional about Pooh walking up to an older Christopher Robin and telling him how old he got—and that's probably just a taste of the emotional rollercoaster that will be Christopher Robin.

Here's the official synopsis for the film:

In the heartwarming live action adventure "Disney's Christopher Robin," the young boy who embarked on countless adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood with his band of spirited and lovable stuffed animals, has grown up and lost his way. Now it is up to his childhood friends to venture into our world and help Christopher Robin remember the loving and playful boy who is still inside.

Christopher Robin is stuck in a job where he is overworked, underpaid and facing an uncertain future. He has a family of his own, but his work has become his life, leaving little time for his wife and daughter, and he has all but forgotten his idyllic childhood spent with a simple-minded, honey-loving stuffed bear and his friends. But when he is reunited with Winnie the Pooh, now tattered and soiled from years of hugs and play, a spark is rekindled, and he is reminded of the endless days of childlike wonder and make believe that defined his youth, when doing nothing could be considered something. Following an unfortunate mishap with Christopher Robin's briefcase, Pooh and the rest of the gang including Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger, step out of the forest and into London to return the crucial possessions…because best friends will always be there for you.

Christopher Robin comes out in theaters Aug. 3.
