Peter Jackson Isn’t Working On Amazon’s Lord Of The Rings Series Either

It looks like the Lord of the Rings trilogy director isn't working in Amazon's Lord of the Rings series after all.

The Lord of the Rings fans might have been excited after hearing the news that Amazon was trying to court Jackson into directing their television adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's book series, but now the fantasy director's come out to debunk the rumors.

Jackson recently spoke with French outlet Allocine to talk about his various projects (translation via The Playlist) and during his interview with the publication, the director decided to set the record straight and debunk the rumors that he would be working on the Lord of the Rings series.

"I'm not involved at all in the ‘Lord of the Rings' series. I understand how my name could come up, but there is nothing happening with me on this project."

Though it might be true that Amazon might have tried to tap the director for their show, it no longer seems likely that Jackson will work on the series.

That's not the only rumor that Jackson debunked. The director also got candid with the publication about the rumors that he's going to direct a film for the DCEU, saying that he hasn't been in discussions with Warner Bros. and that he has no interest in adapting any superhero movie for cinema. After all, according to Jackson, he just really isn't a big fan of comics and hasn't even read a single one.

Looks like Peter Jackson fans are having a barrel of disappointment today. Such a shame.

Amazon's Lord of the Rings series doesn't have a release date just yet but we'll let everyone know as soon as we get word.
