Peter Dinklage is Hunting For Killer in Trailer For Sci-Fi Thriller Rememory

"Digging up the past can bury you."

Lionsgate has released a trailer for a thrilling sci-fi film called Rememory. The film stars Peter Dinklage as Sam Bloom, a detective who uses a memory machine to solve the murder of a scientific pioneer who created the technology that allows people to extract memories and watch them on an external device.

The concept of this film reminds me of the Black Mirror episode from Season 1, The Entire History of You. The possibility of altering memories using technology has been explored in various cyberpunk titles before, and there's usually a big plot twist involved. I'm excited to see how Bloom will solve the murder mystery in this one. I'm also glad to see the late Anton Yelchin in this trailer. Watch the trailer below:

Synopsis:

The film explores the ways in which our past defines the present. In Rememory, a visionary scientific pioneer (Donovan) is found dead shortly after unveiling his newest invention: a device able to extract, record and play a person's memories. His grieving wife (Ormond) retreats into her house and cuts off contact with the outside world when a mysterious man (Dinklage) shows up. After stealing the machine, he uses it to try and solve the mystery, beginning an investigation of memories that lead him to unexpected and dangerous places.

Rememory was directed by Mark Palansky (Shutter, Penelope) who co-wrote the script with Michael Vukadinovich. It's set to release in theaters on September 8, 2017. It will also be available on Google Play for free on August 24.
