Before he became Charles Xavier in the X-Men movies, English actor Patrick Stewart was famous for his role as Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: Next Generation.
The 75-year-old star recently talked to IGN about his new series Blunt Talk, and during the interview, he was asked whether we would see him play his Star Trek character again. Here's what he said:
"It's possible. I think it's unlikely. But it's possible. The series wrapped over 25 years ago and we've got a rather elderly Captain Picard now. So I don't know. It would be… it could be entertaining."
Although that doesn't confirm anything involving his most iconic role, it's good to know that he's up for it. The Next Generation was a great show, that explores moral and societal issues while presenting great stories in outer space (usually through allegories), and I know Trekkers would love to see a new version of it. And if they're making a new Star Trek film after Star Trek Beyond, I hope they cast Stewart to reprise his role. Please! Make it so!
