PS4 4.00 Update is Coming, Beta Details and Signups Already Announced


PS4 players have something great to look forward to. The next major update, the PS4 Update 4.00, is already up for testing.

Following the trends for the PS4 3.00 and 3.50 system software updates, Sony is rolling out another wave of beta testing, this time for its latest build. Announced via PlayStation Blog, the signup link is already up. PS4 players can be beta testers so long as you register until the start of the beta sometime in early August. Players must be 18 years old and above, have signed up before the beta official starts, and have a PS4 with an Internet connection and access to a Master Account.

"We've been hard at work on the next PS4 system software update, and could use your help testing it ahead of the official launch. Starting today, you can sign up for a chance to be a beta tester and get an advance look at some of the improvements and new features coming to PS4."

In case you sign up for the beta testing, you will get an email that has the instructions for downloading the beta version of the system software update. For first time beta testers, you need not worry about not liking the beta version. You can easily go back to the PS4 3.55 version anytime.

Also, make sure that you're a part of the PlayStation forums. This is the channel where you can give significant feedback for any issues, features, and other comments on the PS4 4.00 build.

Sony has yet to detail the features coming to the beta, but more details are expected in August.
