Overwatch: Pharah's Father Revealed; Puts End To Fan Theories

A lot of Overwatch gamers are currently enjoying the Insurrection event which is based on one of the most major happenings that helped define the lore. Along with the event comes a whole new batch of skins and extras, as well as some sprays that reveal some of the characters' backstories. Apparently, one spray has revealed the identity of one of the most speculated characters in the game — Pharah's father.

As pointed out by coL AskJoshy on Twitter, one of the new sprays features a young Ana Amari holding baby Pharah with a guy who looks to be her husband.

A lot of fans have speculated on the identity of Pharah's father, ranging from Reinhardt to Soldier: 76. One theory that I thought was actually pretty strong was that Pharah's father was Gabe Reyes a.k.a. Reaper, who found himself in a love triangle between Ana and Jack Morrison (Soldier: 76); the aftermath of their duel would then lead to the destruction of the Overwatch headquarters.

With Pharah's father announced, however, I think it's kind of anti-climactic that he really wasn't anybody in-game that we already knew. The only way that guy in the image isn't Pharah's father is that he's actually Ana's brother or much older son.

Anyways, I'm just happy the lore is getting more and more meat to it.

Overwatch: Insurrection is will be live from April 11–May 1.
