Original Cut Of Justice League Was Said To Be 'Unwatchable' Before Whedon Stepped In

By now, everyone who's been keeping their ear to the ground about Justice League news will be aware that Joss Whedon has taken over the project, and he has been making some very "significant" changes to the story that Zack Snyder was initially going to present. Some new rumors have been coming out about the movie, and it seems that things were way worse before Joss Whedon came on board.

According to Bill Ramey from Batman-on-film, an early cut of the movie was deemed to be "unwatchable" and just like Batman v Superman, it was said to be too dark when it came to the tone. As of now, reshoots for the movie are still taking place, and one character who is undergoing a lot of changes is Ray Fisher's Victor Stone/Cyborg.

In an interview with IGN, Joe Morton, who plays Cyborg's father, had this to say about the reshoots:

"Well, the stuff that I had to do were just really small little bits and pieces, nothing necessarily having to do with tone. I know that with Ray [Fisher], the young man who plays Victor, there were some adjustments that they made in terms of the tone of that character. I think what I heard was that there was a need from the studio to lighten up the film in a way—that the film felt too dark. I don't know what that meant in terms of how it actually got translated in terms of the reshoots but that's what I heard. That's what I thought some of the reshoots were about."

The news of Joss Whedon taking over Justice League came as bittersweet for fans. Though some were happy to see Whedon taking over, Zack Snyder's reasons for exiting the project were nothing short of tragic.

Though Snyder may have problems with his narration style, he is still a superb visual director, and I would like to see more of his work come to form in future DCEU movies.

Justice League comes out Nov. 17.
